Kebbi APC Lawmakers Demand Malami’s Arrest Over ‘False, Inciting’ Petition

At a press conference in Abuja on Friday, Senator Adamu Aliero (Kebbi Central), flanked by fellow senators and House members from the state, dismissed Malami’s September 10 petition alleging that Governor Idris and other political figures were importing thugs, foreign mercenaries, and arms into Kebbi.

“These allegations are false, unfounded and politically motivated,” Aliero said, alleging instead that Malami himself brought hired thugs from Sokoto, Koko and Rara during a recent visit to Birnin Kebbi, where stones were thrown at the APC state secretariat and chants of “one term” targeted the governor.

The lawmakers insisted that Kebbi remains one of Nigeria’s most peaceful states, crediting deliberate security investments and collaboration with security agencies.

They urged law-enforcement bodies to invite Malami to substantiate his claims and to “see the petition for what it truly is — a smear campaign laced with dangerous rhetoric.”

Backing the caucus, Senator Garuba Musa Maidoki (Kebbi South) stressed the APC’s peaceful record, noting that Malami’s house sits barely 50 metres from the APC state headquarters without incident until the alleged provocation.
