This year’s edition, themed “Capital Markets in a Digital, Ethical, and Sustainable Era: Charting Pathways for Economic Transformation,” will bring together top government officials, regulators, investors, market operators, and international experts to examine how Nigeria’s capital market must evolve to drive inclusive and long-term economic growth.

According to Chairman of the Conference Committee, Bashir Adewale, the event comes at a pivotal time as Nigeria pursues its ambition of becoming a $1tn economy.

He emphasized that the capital market must be positioned as a leading catalyst for transformation.

“Digital innovation is changing how capital is mobilized and invested. Ethical governance is now a must-have for building trust. And sustainability is no longer optional—it is essential for long-term resilience,” Adewale said.

The two-day programme will feature a rich blend of keynote speeches, plenary sessions, technical panels, and interactive breakout discussions. Key topics include fintech, blockchain, and artificial intelligence in the capital market, ethical standards and regulatory compliance, environmental, social and governance (ESG) investing, investor education and protection, and the role of youth and women in finance.

Speaking on the significance of this year’s theme, CIS First Vice President, Fiona Ahimie, highlighted the Institute’s commitment to empowering the next generation of capital market professionals.

“Succession and sustainability are critical to our future. We are engaging directly with students and young professionals, opening their eyes to career paths in stockbroking, investment banking, asset management, and more. Young Nigerians are digital-first and hungry for opportunity, and we must meet them with innovative, tech-driven solutions,” she said.

Ahimie also underscored the need for stronger financial literacy, noting that many young Nigerians continue to fall victim to Ponzi schemes and scams due to poor investment knowledge.

“We’re on a mission to change that by positioning the capital market as a real, credible avenue for funding, investing, and building wealth,” she added.

In addition to panel sessions and networking opportunities, the conference will feature a Capital Market Career Fair for students from FCT-based schools and universities, a regulatory engagement visit to the Central Bank of Nigeria, and dedicated focus sessions on fintech innovation, sustainable finance, and financial inclusion.
