Ondopress News reports that the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has recorded more than 4.4 million online registrations for Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs) as of Sunday, September 14, 2025.

The figure comes just four weeks after the exercise commenced on August 18, underscoring strong public interest in the ongoing registration.

According to INEC’s breakdown, Osun leads the table with 552,045 registrations, followed by Lagos with 488,523, and Borno with 439,426. Other states with high numbers include Ogun (396,799), Kebbi (287,059), and Kaduna (240,357).

The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) also recorded significant interest with 213,732 registrants, while Yobe followed closely with 212,840.

At the lower end of the table, Enugu registered the least with 1,839, followed by Abia (3,532) and Ebonyi (4,024).

A total of 4,445,505 Nigerians have completed the online registration so far, a development INEC officials say reflects citizens’ determination to participate in the democratic process.

The Commission urged applicants to complete their biometrics at designated centres to validate their online registration.
