Aliko Dangote, President of Dangote Petroleum Refinery, has declared that Nigeria’s five-decade struggle with fuel scarcity has ended since the refinery began producing petrol one year ago.

Speaking at the facility’s first-anniversary conference, Dangote highlighted the transformative impact of the 650,000-barrel-per-day project on Nigeria’s energy security and economy.

The refinery has eliminated fuel queues that plagued Nigeria since 1975. Petrol prices have dropped from nearly ₦1,100 to ₦841 in key regions.
