Obidient Pioneer Fadjoes Joins 2027 Race, Says Obi Lacks Credibility to Challenge Tinubu in 2027

A pioneer member of the Obidient Movement and United States-based Nigerian, Faduri Oluwadare Joseph, popularly known as Fadjoes, has declared his intention to contest the 2027 presidential election, asserting that the 2023 Labour Party candidate, Peter Obi, no longer has the political strength to challenge President Bola Tinubu.

Addressing journalists at a press briefing in Abuja, Fadjoes claimed that although 2023 was “Peter Obi’s turn,” the 2027 contest would represent a generational shift. He argued that Nigeria’s political leadership must transition from the older political class to younger Nigerians capable of driving innovation and reform.

The US-based nurse, who is a graduate of Ambrose Alli University in Edo State, said he was among those who mobilised Nigerians in the diaspora during the 2023 elections. However, he criticised Obi’s alleged alignment with established political interests, questioning the ideological direction of any new political coalition.

Fadjoes maintained that the 2027 election should not be a battle between entrenched political blocs but a movement driven by ordinary Nigerians, particularly the youth. According to him, the country requires leadership that reflects modern realities, including technological advancement, youth inclusion and electoral reforms.

He lamented that while other nations are advancing in artificial intelligence and digital governance, Nigeria remains preoccupied with basic survival issues. He also criticised insecurity and economic hardship, insisting that any government unable to protect lives and provide basic necessities has failed in its fundamental duty.

Dismissing concerns about political structure, Fadjoes argued that Nigerians are more interested in credible leadership than party platforms. He expressed confidence that young people across Nigeria and in the diaspora would rally behind what he described as a “new direction” for the country.
