BREAKING: Marco Rubio PANICS over the shutdown of the Strait of Hormuz and begs other nations to save Trump’s bacon because Iran is violating “international law.”
It doesn’t get any more embarrassing than this…
“We’re talking about this: There are some in the Iranian regime that are going around saying that they want to make the Strait of Hormuz tolling thing, they want to make it permanent,” Rubio told reporters. “That’s unacceptable!”
“The whole world should be outraged by it,” he whined. “We’re impacted by it a little bit, but the rest of the world is impacted by it a lot more, including many of the countries represented today here at the G7.”
Rubio conceding that the United States is a “little bit” affected by Iran’s control of the Strait is a direct refutation of Trump’s claim that we have “so much oil” that “our country is not affected by this.”
The truth, of course, is that the United States and indeed the entire global economy is affected by the Strait, through which 20% of the world’s petroleum passes. In fact, fear of disrupting the Strait is one of the primary reasons that no previous president was foolish enough to start a war with Iran.
“And so if those countries are deeply impacted by it, all we’ve said is, you guys need to do something about it,” Rubio continued. “We’ll help you, but you guys are going to need to be ready to do something about it.”
Most of our closest allies have already stated that they have no interest in taking part in Trump’s disastrous, illegal war. Unlike this White House, they’re unwilling to risk the lives of their service members on behalf of Israel’s dreams of territorial expansion.
For Trump and Rubio, this is a deeply humiliating geopolitical problem. Before they started this war, the Strait was open. Now, they’re in the position of simply trying to claw their way back to the status quo that was in place before they started bombing women and children. Apparently, the “art of the deal” means fighting to get back something that you already had.
Rubio continued: “Because when this conflict and when this operation ends, when the Iranians decide, well, now we control the Strait of Hormuz, and you can only go through here if you pay us, and we allow you to, that’s not only is it illegal under international law and maritime law, it’s unacceptable.”
“And that can’t be allowed to exist. And so what we’ve said is that the countries that are most impacted by that should be willing to do something about it, and we’ll help them. And that’s what I said,” he added.See more, details. .
