Operation Whirl Stroke Troops Arrest Suspected Human Trafficker, Rescue Six Victims In Benue
Troops of Sector 1, Operation Whirl Stroke (OPWS), have arrested a suspected human trafficker and rescued six victims in Gwer West Local Government Area of Benue.
A military source said the operation followed credible intelligence on the activities of suspected traffickers hibernating in Alaide community.
The source disclosed that the troops responded to the information at about 7:40 a.m. on March 26 and conducted a targeted operation in the area.
“During the operation, troops apprehended one suspected human trafficker and successfully rescued six victims,” the source said.
He added that the victims were handed over to the Nigeria Police, Alaide Division, for further investigation and necessary action.
