NDLEA Nabs Couple, 93-year-old Great Grandpa, Medical Doctor Over Cocaine, skunk trafficking…As NDLEA nabs couple in Niger state, recovers large consignments of illicit drugs in Lagos, FCT, Borno, Ogun, Imo, Abia, Edo raids

The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) has intensified its nationwide crackdown on drug trafficking, recording a series of major arrests and seizures across several states.

Among those apprehended are a 93-year-old man in Abia State found with 7.7 kilograms of skunk, and a 69-year-old medical doctor in Ogun State linked to an international cocaine trafficking network.

The operation also led to the arrest of an Ivorian national at Kano airport with 1.49 kilograms of cocaine bound for Italy, with further investigations exposing the doctor as a key figure coordinating the illicit trade.

In separate operations, NDLEA operatives arrested a couple in Niger State with 118 kilograms of skunk hidden in their home, while large consignments of drugs, including Rohypnol tablets, codeine syrup, and pentazocine injections, were intercepted in Borno State.

Additional raids in Lagos, Ogun, Imo, Edo, and the Federal Capital Territory resulted in multiple arrests and significant drug seizures, including over 7,000 kilograms of skunk concealed in trucks in Edo State.

Alongside enforcement actions, the agency sustained its War Against Drug Abuse (WADA) sensitization campaigns across schools and communities nationwide.
