FCT Minister Nyesom Wike has issued a firm directive to contractors handling infrastructure projects in Abuja, insisting that all projects slated for commissioning during Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s third anniversary must be completed by June, describing the deadline as non-negotiable.

During an inspection tour, the FCT Minister expressed dissatisfaction with delays on a road project in Wuse, warning that failure to meet the revised second-week-of-June deadline would not be tolerated, despite acknowledging the quality of work done.

He reaffirmed that the administration is actively monitoring projects to ensure accountability and standards, while commending contractors delivering key projects such as the N16 interchange and the Institutions and Research Centre, both expected to be ready on schedule.

At Tunga Madaki, Wike noted significant progress on a road and bridge linking Bill Clinton Drive (Airport Road) to nearby communities, highlighting its importance for improving connectivity following the construction of a second runway.

He also revealed plans to extend the road to Zuba, alongside broader efforts to develop satellite towns through investments in water supply, education, and healthcare, including ongoing projects in Bwari, Karu, and Orozo.

Addressing recent water shortages in parts of AMAC, Wike blamed a damaged pipeline caused by a private developer, warning of possible sanctions, including project shutdown, while assuring residents that repairs are underway.Original Source. .
