Former Kogi West senator, Dino Melaye, has stirred political conversations with bold claims about the 2027 presidential election, expressing strong confidence in his chances against President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

Speaking during an interview on Independent Mind Media, Melaye criticized the current administration, stating that anyone interested in the presidency under the African Democratic Congress (ADC) could perform “one million times better” than Tinubu. He added that there could “never be a worse president” than the incumbent.

Addressing the possibility of going head-to-head with Tinubu, Melaye maintained that victory would be certain if the electoral process is transparent.

“Let’s go on a free and fair election, I will b+at him flat. He won’t even stand up,” he said. When asked to clarify where such a contest would take place, he responded:

“In the Federal Republic of Nigeria. Let him allow a free and fair contest, and if he doesn’t allow it, we will make him conduct our election.”

Melaye also spoke on internal party dynamics, stressing that he is not driven by desperation but by a desire to see national progress. He noted that he would support whoever emerges through due process within the party.
