Taiwan Receives Last U.S. Abrams Tanks as Cross-Strait Tensions Rise

More than a dozen civilian trailers were seen leaving the port carrying M1A2T tanks covered in tarps, with police managing traffic and military police providing escorts.

The first batch of 38 M1A2T tanks arrived in December 2024. The second batch of 42 arrived on July 28, 2025, and both batches have since been put into service.

The last batch of 28 was completed in the US in late February and early March before being shipped to Taiwan by sea, CNA reported.Continue Your, Reading. .
