Russia Claims Iskander-M Missile Strikes Targeted Drone Production Sites in Kyiv
Russia’s Ministry of Defence has announced that its forces carried out overnight missile strikes on Ukraine’s capital, Kyiv, using Iskander-M ballistic missiles, claiming the operation targeted facilities linked to Ukraine’s military drone programme.
According to the Russian Defence Ministry, the strikes hit military-industrial sites involved in the production and storage of medium- and long-range unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs).
Ukrainian authorities confirmed that ballistic missiles were launched toward Kyiv overnight, reporting explosions, fires and damage in parts of the city. Officials also said several people were injured during the attack.
Ukraine further stated that it was unable to intercept the ballistic missiles launched during the assault.

The claims made by the Russian Defence Ministry have not been independently verified, and Ukrainian authorities have not confirmed that the targeted sites were drone production or storage facilities.
The latest attack comes amid an ongoing exchange of long-range strikes between Russia and Ukraine, with both sides continuing to target military and strategic infrastructure as the conflict persists.
