U.S. Moves Patriot and THAAD Air Defence Systems From South Korea to Middle East

The United States has reportedly redeployed advanced air defence systems, including Patriot missile system and THAAD, from South Korea to the Middle East amid rising regional tensions.

South Korea Raises Concerns

Reports indicate that the President of South Korea expressed concern over the decision, noting that the country opposed the withdrawal of some of the air defence systems stationed on its territory.

According to the reported remarks, the South Korean leader acknowledged that Seoul had limited influence over the decision due to the systems being operated by the United States military.
“We voiced our opposition to the U.S. withdrawal of some air defence weapons, but we cannot fully enforce our opinion,” the president reportedly said.
