Trump Warns Iran Over Possible Mining of Strait of Hormuz

The President of the United States of America, Donald Trump, has issued a strong warning to Iran over reports that mines may have been placed in the Strait of Hormuz.

In a statement, Trump said the United States has not confirmed the presence of mines in the vital shipping corridor but insisted that if any were deployed, they must be removed immediately.

“If Iran has put out any mines in the Hormuz Strait, and we have no reports of them doing so, we want them removed immediately,” Trump said.

The U.S. leader warned that failure to remove the mines could trigger severe military consequences.

“If for any reason mines were placed, and they are not removed forthwith, the military consequences to Iran will be at a level never seen before,” he added.

Trump also noted that removing any such mines would be viewed as a positive step toward easing tensions.

“If, on the other hand, they remove what may have been placed, it will be a giant step in the right direction.”

Strategic Importance of the Strait
The Strait of Hormuz is one of the world’s most critical energy transit routes, linking the Persian Gulf to global markets.

A significant portion of the world’s oil shipments passes through the narrow waterway each day.
