A Florida school teacher and mother of four, Eileen McGill Fox, was thrust into a life-changing health crisis after discovering that her husband of three decades had been unfaithful, according to a report by the Tampa Bay Times.

She later learned that HPV, and many of the cancers linked to it, are largely preventable through vaccination. However, the vaccine became available in 2006, by which time she was already married with children and had not considered getting it.

Since her diagnoses, Fox has undergone extensive medical treatment. She has had a hysterectomy and continues to receive regular cancer care.
