BREAKING: Northern Senators Forum Welcomes New Emir of Gumel, Hails Senator Barau, Hussaini
The Northern Senators Forum has congratulated His Royal Highness, Lawan Ahmed Mohammed, PhD, on his appointment as the 17th Emir of Gumel Emirate in Jigawa State, describing his ascension as a new chapter of hope, unity and development for the people.
The Forum also commiserated with the emirate over the passing of the late Emir, Alhaji (Dr.) Ahmed Muhammad Sani II, CON, whose 45-year reign was marked by peace, service and devotion.

In a statement by its Chairman, Senator Abdulaziz Musa Yar’Adua, the Forum commended Deputy Senate President, Senator Jibrin Barau, Senator Babangida Hussaini, Walin Kazaure, and other delegates for their support and participation in the condolence visit and reception for the new monarch.
It expressed confidence in the Emir’s academic and professional background in computing, engineering and cybersecurity, assuring him of continued prayers and support while urging the people of Gumel to unite behind his reign.
