Atiku’s Coalition Crumbles as Political Allies Pull Away – Onanuga

The political future of former Vice President Atiku Abubakar has come under renewed scrutiny as a growing number of erstwhile allies and potential supporters distance themselves from a coalition he is reportedly spearheading.

Bayo Onanuga, a senior media aide to President Tinubu, made the assertion in a public commentary through his verified X page, describing Atiku’s current political alignment — which includes former Kaduna governor Nasir El-Rufai, ex-SGF Babachir Lawal, and Yusuf Datti Baba-Ahmed — as a “leprous group.”

Atiku’s political future looks bleak. The coalition that he, El-Rufai, Babachir, and new member Baba-Ahmed are cobbling together has disintegrated,” Onanuga stated. “Potential allies, including former running mate Ifeanyi Okowa and defunct CPC members, are giving his leprous group a wide berth. Atiku is a loser again.”
