INEC Former Chairman, Yakubu Mahmood Resumes Duty in Qatar As Nigeria’s Ambassador
The Former Chairman, Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, Professor Mahmood Yakubu, has resumed duty after arriving in Doha as Nigeria’s new ambassador to Qatar.
In a statement by the former INEC Chairman’s Chief Press Secretary, Sam Olumekun, Mahmood was received at the airport by the Director of Protocol Department at the Qatari Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ibrahim Yousif Abdullah Fakhro, signalling Qatar’s formal acknowledgement of his posting.
13 African ambassadors also joined Fakhro to receive Yakubu. The Secretary General of the Gas Exporting Countries Forum, Dr Philip Mshelbila, and Michael Ndukaihe Ihekwaba, President of the Nigerians in Diaspora Organisation in Qatar were also present.
