South Africa’s government has told Nigeria that it will not pay compensation for businesses lost or damaged during the recent wave of xenophobic attacks.

Instead, the South African Minister in the Presidency, Khumbudzo Ntshavheni, has demanded that Nigerian authorities provide information on drug dens operated by Nigerians in South Africa.

“We will pay no compensation. Tell us where the drug dens of Nigerians are so we can clean the drugs from our country urgently,” Ntshavheni said.
