Benfica Confirm Exit Of Super Falcons Midfielder
Super Falcons midfielder Christy Ucheibe has parted ways with Portuguese champions Benfica following the expiration of her contract, ondopress reports.
Ucheibe spent six successful years with the Eagles after joining from Swedish side Assi IF in 2020.
The 25-year-old made 179 appearances across all competitions for Benfica, scoring 11 goals during her spell at the club.
The versatile midfielder enjoyed a glittering career in Lisbon, winning six Liga BPI titles, two Portuguese Cups, five League Cups, and two Super Cups.
Ucheibe now embarks on the next chapter of her career after bringing her memorable spell with Benfica to an end.
Ucheibe To Focus On WAFCON 2026
The former Nasarawa Amazons midfielder will now turn her attention to the 2026 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco, which gets underway next month, before making a decision on the next chapter of her career.
The 25-year-old is expected to be included in Nigeria’s squad for the biennial tournament.
The Super Falcons have been drawn in Group C alongside debutants Malawi, Zambia, and Egypt.
