How Bike Rider Battling For Life After Clash With FRSC Operatives In Iyin-Ekiti
There was pandemonium in Iyin-Ekiti on thursday after a commercial motorcyclist was involved in a ghastly accident allegedly linked to operatives of the Federal Road Safety Corps, FRSC.
Eyewitnesses said the rider, who was coming from Ado-Ekiti, was flagged down by FRSC officials at the Iyin-Ekiti entrance but failed to stop and attempted to evade them.
One of the officers was said to have crossed the rider’s path in a bid to stop him, resulting in a collision that left the motorcyclist critically injured, while one of the FRSC operatives was also reportedly hit in the process.
As of the time of filing this report, the fate of the rider remains unknown as he was said to have fallen unconscious after the crash.
The incident sparked outrage at the scene, as passersby and residents blamed FRSC officials for the crash and called for a more professional approach to apprehending motorists who fail to stop when flagged down by uniformed personnel.
