Portugal head coach Jorge Jesus has said he will address the situation surrounding Cristiano Ronaldo after the national team’s upcoming match at the Estádio do Dragão.

Jesus made the comments following Portugal’s 4–2 victory over Denmark in the UEFA Nations League, with attention continuing to surround Ronaldo’s departure from the national team camp.

Jesus Wants Focus on Norway Match

Speaking about the Ronaldo situation, Jesus said the immediate priority was Portugal’s next game against Norway.

“Now we have to focus on the Dragão match and on what we can do in it.”

He added:

“After the Dragão match, we’ll see what happens.”

Jesus acknowledged that waiting until after the match to discuss the matter would be difficult but insisted that the team’s immediate focus should remain on its performance.

Ronaldo Situation Remains Unresolved

Ronaldo left Portugal’s training camp after discussions with Portuguese Football Federation president Pedro Proença and amid reports surrounding his position in Jesus’ team.

The 41-year-old forward had started Portugal’s 1–0 win over Wales but was an unused substitute in the subsequent 2–1 victory over Norway.

Jesus had previously described the Ronaldo matter as closed for the immediate period, saying he wanted to concentrate on Portugal’s matches before discussing the situation further.

Portugal Turn Attention to Dragão

Portugal subsequently defeated Denmark 4–2, maintaining their strong start in the Nations League. The team will now return home to face Norway at the Dragão.

Jesus said the Ronaldo issue would be addressed after that fixture, leaving questions over the forward’s future with the national team unanswered for now.
