Chad has entered into a strategic partnership with LALIGA aimed at strengthening and professionalising football development in the country.

The agreement was formalised in Madrid on Thursday, October 1, 2026, by Chad’s Minister of Youth and Sports, Naïr Abakar, and LALIGA president Javier Tebas.

Youth Development at the Centre

The multi-year partnership will focus on identifying and developing young football talent, improving training structures and strengthening the country’s football institutions.

A national talent-identification campaign will be established alongside a system for monitoring the development of players identified through the programme.

Focus on Coaches and Football Administrators

The agreement will also provide training for coaches, club directors and sports managers as part of efforts to strengthen local expertise.

The partners intend to transfer knowledge and methodologies to Chadian professionals so that the benefits of the collaboration can continue within the country’s football system over the long term.
