Akeem Jimoh stole 17 tubers of yams valued at N35,000. The theft took place behind Africa Primary School, Osogbo, on July 25, 2025.

Jimoh pleaded guilty and had no legal representation. The defendant had previously served a three-year jail term for another offense.Jimoh confessed the theft was due to hunger.

The magistrate sentenced him to three years with hard labor, without an option of a fine.
