Family Refutes Allegations of Seeking Govt Help for Nandipha to Attend Mother’s Funeral
The family of Dr Nandipha Magudumana has asked for privacy as they prepare to bury her mother, Nokuzola Sikeleni, who died last week in Port Shepstone.
In a statement today, Tuesday, the family denied reports that they sought government intervention for Magudumana to attend the funeral. She is currently serving time at Bizzah Makhate Correctional Centre for her role in the Thabo Bester prison escape saga.
The denial follows earlier speculation about a compassionate leave application, which sparked public debate.
Her father, Zolile Sikeleni, previously spoke of the family’s grief while their daughter remains incarcerated.
Funeral arrangements are underway, with the family urging the public and media to respect their privacy during this difficult time.
