Nigerian Pharmacy Research Gains Global Recognition as CPACPI Secures FIP Congress Acceptance
Nigeria’s pharmaceutical The research community has recorded another major international breakthrough as the Community Pharmacists Assessment and Career Progression Institute (CPACPI) secured global recognition following the acceptance of two major research abstracts for presentation at the 84th World Congress of the International Pharmaceutical Federation in Montreal, Canada.
The annual congress, regarded as the world’s largest gathering of pharmacy professionals, will hold from August 30 to September 2, 2026, under the theme: “One Health, One Pharmacy, Bridging Science, Practice, and Education.” The development builds on the momentum generated at the previous FIP Congress in Denmark, where Ambrose Igwekamma Ezeh introduced the standardized CPACPI framework, which was later adopted by the FIP Community Pharmacy Section.
One of the accepted studies, titled “The Implementation Gap: Perceived Barriers and External Threats to Community Pharmacists’ Participation in a Career Advancement Scheme in Nigeria,” will be presented by Iyeseun Asieba.
Another research work, “Beyond the Counter: Profiling the Early Adopters of a Career Progression Framework among Nigerian Community Pharmacists,” will be presented by Omokhafe Mary Ashore.
Stakeholders say the recognition further strengthens Nigeria’s growing contribution to pharmaceutical innovation, workforce development, and evidence-based healthcare reforms globally.
