BREAKING: Sunday Igboho, Police Rescue Kidnapped Woman, Two-Year-Old Son in Kwara Forest Gun Battle

A joint team of FID-IRT operatives led by ASP Ajegoke Amos, in collaboration with Chief Adeyemo Sunday (popularly known as Sunday Igboho), has rescued a kidnapped woman and her two-year-old son during an operation in a forest at Bode Sadu, Kwara State.

The operation, which began on July 1, 2026, intensified on July 3 after the team reportedly contacted the kidnappers under the pretense of delivering a ransom. Upon sighting the security team, the kidnappers opened fire.

A gun battle ensued, forcing the suspects to flee into the forest, with some believed to have escaped with gunshot wounds.

As the team combed through the forest, they heard cries for help, leading them to the exact location where the victims were being held.

Both the woman and her two-year-old son were successfully rescued.

The rescued victims are currently receiving medical treatment at Igboho General Hospital.
