Court Issues Arrest Warrant for Adeniyi Adeyemi Over Alleged Forgery, Fraud

A Federal High Court has issued a bench warrant for the arrest of Adeniyi Adeyemi, identified by the prosecution as the Director General of the alleged Presidential Foreign Intervention Promotion Council.

The warrant was issued after Adeyemi failed to appear before Justice Mohammed Umar for the hearing of a criminal case filed against him.

According to court proceedings, Adeyemi is facing an eight-count charge bordering on alleged forgery, fraud and impersonation in a suit marked FHC/ABJ/CR/562/2025.

When the matter, listed as number 12 on the court’s cause list, was called, the defendant was absent from the proceedings.

Counsel representing the prosecution, acting on behalf of the Nigeria Police Force through the Office of the Inspector-General of Police, applied for a bench warrant to compel the defendant’s appearance in court.

Justice Mohammed Umar subsequently granted the application and ordered the issuance of a warrant for Adeyemi’s arrest.

The case has been adjourned to a later date for further proceedings. As of the time of this report, the allegations against the defendant remain before the court, and he is presumed innocent unless proven guilty in accordance with the law.
