The Lagos State Rapid Response Squad (RRS) has arrested suspected hoodlums accused of terrorising motorists along the Lekki-Ajah Expressway following a midnight enforcement operation targeting criminal elements operating along the busy corridor.

The operation was disclosed by the Lagos State Commissioner for Environment and Water Resources, Tokunbo Wahab, in a post on his X handle on Sunday.

According to Wahab, the operation targeted individuals allegedly involved in harassing and intimidating motorists, extorting money from them and, in some cases, vandalising vehicles when drivers refused to comply with their demands.

He added that the Rapid Response Squad would sustain intelligence-led operations against individuals whose activities threaten public safety, disrupt traffic and restrict the free movement of people across the state.
