Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke, has reaffirmed his support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s bid for a second term in the 2027 presidential election.
Adeleke made the declaration on Sunday while delivering his victory speech following his re-election as governor of Osun State.

The governor described Tinubu as a “son of Osun State” and said he was standing by his earlier endorsement of the President for another term in office.

“President Tinubu is son of Osun State and I hereby reaffirm my earlier endorsement of him for a second term in the 2027 presidential election,” Adeleke said.

The latest declaration comes after Adeleke secured victory in Saturday’s Osun governorship election, defeating his closest challenger, Bola Oyebamiji of the All Progressives Congress (APC). INEC declared Adeleke the winner after he polled 511,067 votes, compared with Oyebamiji’s 444,815 votes.

Adeleke had previously endorsed Tinubu for the 2027 presidential election, with the governor and his political camp repeatedly describing the decision as being in the interest of Osun State and the Yoruba people.

The reaffirmation is politically significant because Adeleke contested the Osun governorship election under the Accord Party, while Tinubu remains the candidate whose 2027 re-election bid Adeleke has publicly backed.
