Strasbourg Agree €20m Deal to Sign Karim Coulibaly from Werder Bremen
RC Strasbourg have reached an agreement to sign German centre-back Karim Coulibaly from Werder Bremen for a reported €20 million fixed fee, with a sell-on clause also included in the deal.
The agreement reportedly contains no additional add-ons, while Werder Bremen are set to receive the fixed transfer fee as part of the deal.
Coulibaly is regarded as a promising young defender and has attracted interest because of his potential to develop into a top-level centre-back.
Strasbourg See Coulibaly as Future Star
Strasbourg’s move for Coulibaly is understood to be part of the club’s strategy of investing in young players with significant long-term potential.
The club is owned by BlueCo, the ownership group that also controls Chelsea, and Coulibaly is reportedly viewed as a player capable of developing into an important asset for the group.
The transfer negotiations were reportedly led by Roc Nation Sports and Nochi Hamasor.
€20m Transfer Agreement
The reported agreement consists of a €20 million fixed fee, alongside a sell-on clause that could benefit Werder Bremen from a future transfer involving the defender.
There are reportedly no performance-related add-ons included in the agreement.
The move would represent a significant investment by Strasbourg in a young defensive talent as the club continues to build for the future.
Coulibaly’s arrival is expected to add further depth to Strasbourg’s defensive options if the transfer is completed as reported.
