José Mourinho has explained that Rodri’s hesitation over a potential move to Real Madrid raised doubts in his own mind, insisting that players joining the Spanish giants must be completely convinced about the move.

Mourinho was discussing Rodri’s situation during an interview with El Chiringuito when he praised the midfielder but stressed the unique demands associated with playing for Real Madrid.

“Rodri is an extraordinary player, but Real Madrid is a different dimension,” Mourinho said.

According to Mourinho, Rodri’s uncertainty eventually influenced his thinking about whether Real Madrid should pursue the midfielder.

Mourinho said the midfielder’s doubts created doubts for him as well, explaining that he believes players must be decisive when presented with the opportunity to join Real Madrid.

“Real Madrid can not have players who think twice.”

“You get the call and say: When do you want me there?” he said.
