Criticise Me, but Never Stop Believing in Nigeria – Tinubu
Ondopress.com President Bola Tinubu has called on Nigerians to remain hopeful and committed to the nation despite its challenges, declaring that citizens are free to criticise and disagree with his administration but should never lose faith in Nigeria.
In his Democracy Day broadcast on Thursday, he urged young Nigerians to “build here, code here, work here, and vote here,” arguing that great nations are built by those who stay to solve problems.
He charged the National Assembly, Judiciary, media, and civil society to act as guardians of democracy.
Young Nigerians may feel conflicted between the president’s call to stay and the reality of economic hardship.
Criticism is welcomed, but the administration must demonstrate responsiveness to public feedback.
A call to believe in Nigeria without tangible policy wins may not sway disillusioned citizens.
Democracy Day messaging aims to boost national morale amid insecurity and economic challenges.
The president’s appeal to institutions reinforces the importance of checks and balances
The effectiveness of Tinubu’s message will be measured by whether his administration translates words into actions that restore public trust.
