The United Nations has raised concerns that escalating political restrictions in Cameroon may undermine the credibility of the country’s upcoming presidential election.

Cameroon’s long-serving president, Paul Biya, aged 92 and the world’s oldest head of state, is seeking another seven-year mandate in the October 12 polls, which would extend his nearly 43 years in power.
