Dangote Refinery Exports First Petrol Cargo to U.S. Amid Rising Global Demand

According to global analytics firm Kpler and market sources, the vessel Gemini Pearl loaded about 300,000 barrels of gasoline from the Lekki-based refinery on August 26 and is en route to the United States, with indications it may berth at the Port of New York or New Jersey.

This shipment marks the first-ever Nigerian petrol export to the U.S., although Dangote Refinery has previously supplied consignments to other regions. Between June and July, three LR2 cargoes were dispatched—two to the Middle East Gulf and one to Singapore.
