JUST-IN: Notorious Bandit Leader Kills 7 Of His Fighters Over Unauthorised Kidnappings

A notorious bandit leader operating in Zamfara State has allegedly killed seven of his fighters following an allegation of betrayal within his camp.

Zagazola Makama, a counter-terrorism expert in a post on Thursday said Ado Aleru killed the fighters on suspicion of betrayal.

According to Makama, Aleru carried out the act across several villages including this in Takulawa, Turba, Bamamu and the axis of Yamma forest.

The security expert also said that fighter victims of Hia action were involved in unauthorised kidnappings along the Gusau–Yankara highway.

Makama quoted a source as saying, “He personally executed seven of them after confirming they were behind recent abductions of travellers on the highway. He feared their actions were drawing too much attention from security forces.

He also said the killing by Alerh has sent fear among other members of his camp and loyalists.

Other members perceive the killing of their colleagues as a sign of growing mistrust within the camp.

Details also show that Aleru has been on the list of the Nigerian government’s wanted terrorists.

He has been accused of carrying out several attacks, killings, kidnappings and cattle rustling in Zamfara, Katsina and parts of Sokoto States.
