In a post on his verified X page on Friday, Omokri cited the case of Enugu State Government, which recently petitioned the EFCC against businessman Sijibomi Ogundele from the Southwest, and noted that the anti-graft agency acted promptly on the matter.

According to him, such actions show that the EFCC does not operate on ethnic or regional bias. He also referenced past cases, including that of Honeywell Group Chairman, Oba Otudeko, as proof that law enforcement agencies are not motivated by ethnic or partisan considerations.

Omokri stressed that allegations of EFCC being used as a political weapon are misleading, urging Nigerians to focus instead on evidence of innocence when individuals are arrested or declared wanted.

“The only defence against the EFCC when anyone is arrested or declared wanted should be verifiable proof that they are innocent,” he stated.
