Sowore Blasts DSS Over Request to Deactivate His X Account

Human rights activist and presidential candidate of the African Action Congress (AAC), Omoyele Sowore, has reacted to a letter written by the Department of State Services (DSS) to X Corp., demanding the deactivation of his verified account within 24 hours…. Read ..Full.. Article.. .

In a statement released on Sunday via his social media platforms, Sowore described the move as a “national disgrace” and another attempt by the administration of President Bola Tinubu to silence dissenting voices.

The activist alleged that the DSS was acting in collusion with the Presidency to intimidate him, after “hired protesters” recently called for his arrest outside the Federal High Court and the Ministry of Justice in Abuja.

According to Sowore, the DSS request to X demonstrates “the brazenness of a government that operates above its own laws” and reflects the “desecration of national dignity.”

“So it came as no surprise to discover a ridiculously crafted letter from the DSS to X (formerly Twitter), demanding that my account be deactivated within 24 hours.
