JUST-IN: Again, DSS Petitions Meta, Seeks Deactivation of Sowore’s Facebook Account Over Posts Against Tinubu

The Department of State Services (DSS) has petitioned Meta, the parent company of Facebook, calling for the immediate suspension and deactivation of the Facebook account of activist and Sahara Reporters publisher, Omoyele Sowore, over what it described as “misleading information, hate speech, and content capable of inciting violence” against President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, and.. In a letter dated 7th September, 2025, and addressed to Meta’s headquarters in Menlo Park, California, USA, the DSS accused Sowore of using his Facebook page to “disparage, ridicule, and deliberately malign” the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
