The National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Prof. Nentawe Yilwatda, has said more governors and lawmakers will defect to the ruling party in preparation for the 2027 general election.  .Read ..Full.. Article.. .

Yilwatda made the statement on Tuesday during the Bayelsa State chapter’s 12th expanded stakeholders’ meeting and endorsement of President Bola Tinubu in Yenagoa, the state capital.

Represented by the APC Deputy National Chairman (South), Chief Emma Eneukwu, Yilwatda said President Tinubu’s performance has already convinced governors and legislators to abandon their parties for the APC, adding that the president is determined to move Nigeria to greater heights.

Earlier, Delta State Governor Sheriff Oborevwore and Akwa Ibom State Governor Umo Eno recently defected from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to join the APC in support of Tinubu’s re-election bid.

“Our doors are still open. More governors, senators, and members of the House of Representatives are moving to our party because of the calibre, integrity, and performance of the person we made president,” Yilwatda said.

He described Tinubu as a “lion” unfazed by opposition criticism and assured that the president would secure an “overwhelming victory” in 2027.
