Tonye Cole: “I’m Won’t Join Amaechi In ADC”

Speaking in an interview on Prime Time, a programme on Arise Television, he said he has no intention of leaving the ruling APC while also highlighting the role the former governor has played in his political career.

“Nobody can take away the fact that he brought me into politics.

“I have always had a lot of respect for individuals like Rotimi Amaechi and others.

“I have consistently said he has a goal and ambition where he wants to go, and so do I. I have my own ambition and goals,” Cole said.

Cole, a two-time gubernatorial aspirant in 2019 and 2023, hopes to be third-time lucky in 2027.

Speaking on his relationship with Amaechi, the APC chieftain acknowledged that the ex-governor of Rivers State played a pivotal role in introducing him to politics.

He noted that while Amaechi is now pursuing the presidency, he remains focused on Rivers State.
