European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen on Tuesday announced that the European Union will suspend its bilateral support to Israel, in a major diplomatic rebuke following escalating tensions in the Middle East…  .Read ..Full.. Article.. .

Von der Leyen further disclosed that the Commission will propose a partial suspension of the EU–Israel partnership agreement, specifically targeting trade-related matters.

“We will suspend our bilateral support to Israel. We will propose a partial suspension of the partnership agreement with Israel regarding trade-related matters,” von der Leyen declared.

The announcement marks one of the EU’s strongest policy shifts on Israel in recent years, amid mounting pressure from member states and international organizations over the humanitarian toll of the conflict in Gaza and, more recently, Israel’s strike in Doha, Qatar.
