The strike comes after a 24-hour ultimatum, issued on Thursday, expired without resolution.

This followed a 10-day deadline set on 1 September, which lapsed on 10 September.

NARD President, Dr. Tope Osundare announced the decision after a six-hour virtual meeting of the association’s National Executive Council on Wednesday.

Resident doctors, who form the backbone of medical staff in teaching and specialist hospitals, are demanding immediate payment of the 2025 Medical Residency Training Fund, clearance of five months’ arrears from the 25–35 per cent Consolidated Medical Salary Structure review, and settlement of other salary backlogs, and..  Read . .More —
