SUBEB: Aiyedatiwa Orders Probe as Applicants Protest Fake Teaching Jobs in Ondo

A statement issued on Friday by the Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, Prince Ebenezer Adeniyan, explained that the protesters were applicants who had been duped by scammers posing as officials of the State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB).

According to the statement, the victims were issued fake appointment and posting letters after paying money to the fraudsters. The forgery was uncovered during the government’s biometric verification exercise, where the letters were flagged as invalid.

The Governor, Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa, has directed SUBEB management to invite the victims for a meeting while a committee has been set up to further investigate the matter.

Meanwhile, the state government disclosed that three SUBEB insiders allegedly involved in the fraudulent scheme had already been sanctioned.

It further noted that the legitimate recruitment process had successfully employed over 2,000 teachers for both primary and secondary schools, all of whom have since resumed duty across the state.
