Ahead of 2027 general elections, a non-governmental organisation has launched a New Nigeria Movement aimed at sensitising ordinary Nigerians on the need to shun vote selling.

The New Nigeria Movement, comprising youths, women and the elderly, says the elite are not welcome as members so as not to compromise their objectives.

65-year-old Emmanuel Ewoko who is the secretary, board of trustees of the movement, says Nigeria, from independence to date, has suffered a leadership crisis, hence it is time to get it right in 2027.

Other members of the movement, including the national coordinator, Kenneth Ibuchi, believe that when ordinary Nigerians decide not to sell their votes, no politician will approach them to buy.

According to them, the key to a new Nigeria will begin with massive sensitisation of ordinary Nigerians on the need to vote for credible persons and not political parties.
