Noor Buhari, the daughter of the late Nigerian President Muhammadu Buhari, expressed her deep sorrow on social media after her father’s passing. The former president, aged 82, died in a London clinic on July 13, 2025, leaving a legacy that has sparked reflection and mourning throughout Nigeria. In a heartfelt Instagram Story, Noor described her heartbreak and shared a prayer for her father’s soul, offering a personal look at the emotional impact of the leader’s death.
“Daddy, I’m heartbroken that we won’t get to share the moments and experiences I had planned for us,” she wrote.
Buhari, Nigeria’s former Head of State and two-term civilian President, was buried in his hometown of Daura, Katsina State, on Tuesday, 15 July, following Islamic traditions.
His death has elicited widespread reactions globally, with tributes from world leaders, politicians, and citizens pouring in.
In addition to her heartfelt message, Noor offered a prayer for her father’s soul: “I pray that you are granted the highest place in Jannah, and may your soul find eternal peace.”
