More than 200 members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Gubuchi Ward, Makarfi Local Government Area of Kaduna State have defected from the ruling party ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The defectors were formally received into the African Democratic Congress (ADC) on Monday.
According to reports, the wave of defections has intensified since opposition leaders adopted the ADC as their platform for the forthcoming polls.
Members of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Labour Party (LP), and other parties have also been joining the ADC in recent weeks.
Prominent opposition figures, including former vice president Atiku Abubakar, Nasir El-Rufai and other key members of different political parties, have defected to the ADC.
Just last Saturday, no fewer than 10,000 members of the PDP, APC, and other parties defected to the ADC in Agatu Local Government Area of Benue State.
