The raid, part of the ongoing Operation LAFIYA NAKOWA aimed at eliminating terrorist and criminal activities across the state, was carried out on September 15, 2025, following credible intelligence on a planned attack by the Bojo terrorist group on Chanchanji community.

According to a statement on Tuesday by Lieutenant Colonel Aliyu Danja, Acting Deputy Director, Army Public Relations, troops swiftly mobilized and intercepted the terrorists along the Demeva–Chanchanji road, and engaged them in a gun battle that left one terrorist neutralized while others fled.

A follow-up operation tracked the fleeing suspects to the Demeva–Gbudu axis, identified as a planned crossing route into Ananum community in Donga LGA.

Items recovered during the operations include; One G3 rifle, Sixteen rounds of 7.62mm special ammunition, and One motorcycle.

The Commander, 6 Brigade / Sector 3 OPWS, Brigadier General Kingsley Chidiebere Uwa, commended the troops for their gallantry and professionalism.

He reaffirmed the Brigade’s commitment to conducting sustained and aggressive operations to dismantle terrorist networks and restore peace in Taraba State and its environs.

Brigadier General Uwa further urged residents to remain vigilant and continue to provide timely and credible information to security agencies to aid in ongoing efforts to secure the region, and..  Read . .More —
