A devastating fire on Tuesday razed six rooms at Akinsoji Zone, Ogbere Moradeyo, Oremeji community, in Egbeda Local Government Area of Oyo State, leaving several families counting their losses. .. Read ..Full.. Article.. .

The incident, which started around 5:30 a.m., was reportedly caused by the careless dropping of a cigarette stub by one of the occupants of the building.

A resident, Tunji Bamgbade, said no life was lost, but properties worth millions of naira were destroyed before firefighters arrived.

“Six rooms were affected before the arrival of firefighters, while properties worth millions of naira were also destroyed,” Bamgbade said.

Confirming the incident in Ibadan, the Chairman of the Oyo State Fire Service, Maroof Akinwande, said the fire was first reported at about 5:55 a.m. by a caller, identified as Mr. Kayode.
