Israel confirmed it launched airstrikes on Tuesday targeting Houthi military infrastructure at the Red Sea port of Hodeidah in Yemen, escalating tensions with the Iran-backed group.. .. Read ..Full.. Article.. .

The Houthis, who control much of northern Yemen, have repeatedly attacked vessels in the Red Sea, claiming their actions are in solidarity with Palestinians amid the ongoing Gaza conflict.

The latest Israeli strike came just hours after its military issued an evacuation order for the port, and weeks after an earlier Israeli operation in August that reportedly killed several senior Houthi officials.

According to Al Masirah TV, a Houthi-run media outlet, Israeli aircraft carried out 12 strikes on port infrastructure, specifically targeting docks that had been recently restored following prior attacks.

Port officials told Reuters that three docks were hit, and local residents said the assault lasted around 10 minutes.

“The Houthi terrorist organization will pay painful prices,” he posted on X.

While the Houthis have previously launched missiles toward Israel, most of which were intercepted, the Israeli military maintains that the Hodeidah port plays a key role in facilitating such threats.

“The Hodeidah Port is used by the Houthi terrorist regime for the transfer of weapons supplied by the Iranian regime, in order to execute attacks against the State of Israel and its allies,” the Israeli military said in a statement.
